Network Marketing has been moving from pitching their opportunity to friends and relatives door to door to making a website and directing anyone who may be interested in their business opportunity to anyone interested on the Internet.
They have actually moved from a local concentration to a global concentration.
Even with this move from local to global via the Internet, success in their business is still going to come from the relationship they develop with the people they bring into their network.
The only drawback that I see from this issue of network marketing using the Internet to market their business is the duplication of this process.
One of my mentors, Randy Gage, has a great training program called Duplication Nation and I found it very interesting that the focus of a successful Network Marketing program is the ability of the person coming into the business to duplicate the marketing process.
As the Internet is a great media for marketing, there are people who still do not understand or have the ability to navigate this media in a way that will benefit them, which limits their ability to duplicate it.
Network Marketing is about building a network of people who are using consumable products month after month. It’s about relationships.
The Internet has a global reach but it can be restrictive in developing relationships.
My suggestion in this area would be to exhaust your belly to belly local market contacts before you turn to the Internet to expand your business.
I think that the shift to the Internet is becoming the marketing of choice because you don’t have to face the rejection face to face.
Network Marketing is about relationships.
You can use autoresponders to remind your groups to make their monthly orders, or communicate phone calls or training events.
The Internet can be used for lead generation. There are many online services set up to generate leads for people interested in network business opportunities.
As I think the Internet is a wonderful media for marketing, I believe due to it’s limitations for people to duplicate the process, it should be secondary to the face to face marketing that is duplicative.
